Ajman University to Organize the 9th UAE Math Day

Ajman University of Science and Technology is organizing the ninth edition of the UAE Mathematics Day on March 9 and 10 in Sheikh Zayed Centre for Conferences and Exhibitions. Dr. Ahmed Ankit, AUST Vice President for External Relations and Cultural Affairs and Chairman of the Math Day, stated that this edition will take an international dimension with the participation of a number of prominent mathematicians from the US, Spain and Malaysia. On the sidelines of the event, an e-learning workshop will be organized by Paerson, a world publisher. 80 participants are expected to take part in the 9th Mathematics Day, 25 of them will come from abroad.

Prof. Sameer Hadid, head of the organizing committee and Dean of AUST College of Education and Basic Sciences said that the UAE Math Day is a new tradition that was initiated by the mathematics departments in the UAE universities and colleges. The ninth edition will display the latest developments in mathematics, and will focus on the practical side and role of mathematics in other sciences. The event will comprise different activities including specialized lectures, workshops on e-learning, a session for students’ researches, and an accompanying book show showcasing the newest math publications.
