AUST Alumni Association Holds “First Steps towards Your Career” Workshop
Ajman University of Science and Technology’s Alumni Association recently organized a workshop entitled “First Steps towards Your Career” delivered by Mr. Ali El Khatib, an older AUST alumnus. The event is the third in a series of training workshops the Alumni Association has been offering to the University’s fresh graduates in the course of this summer.
Attended by the Alumni Council members, a host of AUST graduates and Mrs. Rana Kalam, Alumni Association In-Charge, the workshop focused on two main topics. The first one addressed the key steps to resume writing and the importance of arranging its content in a more organized and persuasive manner; then defined the various types of resumes and their purposes. The second topic touched on the job interview as being the final and decisive stage in the process of job search. Participating graduates were provided with some insights and tips into better preparation for their interviews. They were also introduced to the common types of interviews, the sort of questions they should expect in each, and how the job seeker can wisely and intelligently respond to the interviewers’ questions.
Mr. Ali El Khatib said that “the objective of this workshop, as its title indicates, is to assist AUST graduates with the first steps towards building their career by training them on the latest techniques of resume and cover letter writing, and on the skills required to successfully pass their interviews.” The event also sought to enlighten the route for graduates and help them embark on their professional careers with absolute confidence and high sense of responsibility.
