Ajman University Inducts Freshmen to AUST Experience

Ajman University extended its warmest welcome to the freshmen enrolled for the academic year 2014-2015. In its true AUST style new students were welcomed to the beginning of their higher educational tenure at an orientation ceremony held on campus under the supervision of the Student Affairs Department.

After the ceremony was officiated with the patriotic national anthem and beautiful verses from the Holy Quran, Mr. Osama Saeed Salman, Vice-President of Ajman University welcomed the freshmen and their parents along with AUST deans and faculty members. He expressed that being the oldest private higher educational institution in the country and the largest private university in the region, “AUST provides a stimulating environment for diligence and excellence.” He said, adding, “we provide the environment and means to achieve academic excellence by utilizing the facilities and gaining vital knowledge imparted by our expert and experienced faculty members.”

Explaining the importance of the Orientation Day he said, “Today represents one of the most important days in the life of a new student, it’s a day when they embark on a journey of advantages & challenges, to make beautiful academic days into memories, to reach the next most important day of their educational tenure at the University, their graduation. That day marks the end of this journey but the beginning of a career, holding your degree, it’s your qualification to make your career a reality.”

Faculty members from the College of University Requirements and Academic Counseling familiarized the new students with the rules and regulations at the university. They explained in detail the course registration system and the important dates in the academic calendar along with exposing the benefits of using the electronic media to communicate with the colleges.

An extraordinary entry into the event was a mother who requested time to address the people present. She expressed her joy at enrolling her daughter at AUST, trusting her in good hands to shape her life and give it a better direction. She was overwhelmed by the warm reception and the friendly and familial environment in which students spend their time.

The students were then pleasantly surprised to find their names being drawn through a draw. And after a scrumptious brunch, the students were taken for a tour of the campus along with bilingual guides to help the freshmen feel at home. It was an ideal opportunity to explore the campus, visit the classrooms, labs, research centers, libraries and student facilities.
