AUST participates at 8th Business Symposium in Bahrain

The Alumni Association of Ajman University of Science and Technology participated in the 8th Business Symposium organized by the University of Bahrain in Manama under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, chairman of the board of trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Endowment. The event was themed "Innovation for an Economic Vision". 

Ajman University was the sole UAE representative at the symposium, which was attended by delegates from all countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council who got together to present their projects and exchange experiences on business conception, planning and implementation for young entrepreneurs.

AUST was represented by Engineer Mohammed Othman Baloola, from the College of Engineering, who presented his unique intelligent Fog Alarm system through social media network. It utilizes the social media of twitter, face book and other platform, to inform the drivers of the fog situation.

He also presented a community serving initiative, a device to remotely monitor and control diabetic patients, which impressed both the participants and visitors. Eng. Baloola also initiated a humanitarian campaign to raise health awareness by providing free blood pressure, glucose and BMI tests. His campaign attracted a huge crowd at the symposium’s exhibition.

The symposium’s main goals were discussed during the sideline seminars and events. The focal point of this event was to encourage innovation in the economic vision. The importance of innovation was highly stressed, the creative solutions implemented in the economy reap the highest benefits.

It should be noted that AUST Alumni Association regularly participates in such conferences and symposia to further strengthen links between AUST graduates and their community and job market.
