IEEE UAE Section Bestows Awards on Ajman University

IEEE UAE Section at the Annual General Meeting presented prestigious awards to Ajman University of Science & Technology. A grand ceremony held in Dubai marked the event in the presence of dignitaries and IEEE chairs and members.  IEEE stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and is the world's largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.

Delegation representing Ajman University included; Dr. Ahmed Ankit Assistant to President for External Affairs, Prof. Fahar Hayati - Dean, College of Engineering, Engr. Tazeen Sharif, Lecturer, College of Engineering and Engr. Shahin Basiratzadeh

The Awards were presented by Dr. Mohammed Al-Mualla - UAE Section Chair and Dr. Eesa Bastaki - Honorary Chair and Chair of Nominations & Awards Committee. The first award to Ajman University was in recognition for hosting the best IEEE UAE Student Day 2014 received by Dr. Ahmed Ankit on behalf of the University. The second was awarded to Engr. Tazeen Sharif - IEEE Ambassador and WIE Chair, lecturer at College of Engineering, Ajman University, in recognition of Ajman University being the Best Student Branch of the Year 2014. The third was an award to Dr. Mustahsan Mir, Ajman University Branch Counselor and Head of Electrical Engineering Department, College of Engineering at Ajman University; this commemorates him as the Section Chair for Student Activities.

Ajman University is honored to receive these awards in recognition of the efforts which are a culmination of teamwork, innovation and diligence. Students play a vital role in making any event a success and they accomplish this in compliance with IEEE standards during the Student Day Event, it is truly a feat to be celebrated.
