New Student Council Formed at Ajman University
In accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Department of Students Affairs at Ajman University of Science & Technology has formed the male and female student councils. The two councils comprising of 15 members each are representing all the colleges and its students housed at Ajman University.
Mr. Osama Salman, Vice-President Ajman University met with the new student councils along with Mr. Abdullah Salman, Director, Students Affairs Department and Dr. Abdul Haq Al Nuaimi, Director Community Services Department, also present were Deans and Head of Departments. In the meeting, Mr. Osama commended the role of the student’s council while pointing out that there are no barriers between the University administration and the student council. He asked the members to be a constant and effective link between the university administration and the students. They represent a key channel of communication to highlight the students’ problem and to reach a mutual solution.
Mr. Osama reiterated the announcement by the UAE leadership of declaring 2015 as the Year of Innovation, the University strongly supports this initiative and has dedicated the commencement 2015 to being the “Class of Innovation”. The university is proud of its students and their remarkable achievements; their stride towards excellence is reflected in the many competitions won by the students on the regional and global levels.
Amongst many other roles of the student council, one of the most important is also to discover the talents of their peers and highlight them to the University while nurturing and encouraging the students towards further achievements in their respective fields. The council will work towards raising the awareness of community service and promoting moral values both inside and outside the university. It is worthy to note that as soon as the election results were announced no time was spared in forming the council and assigning the offices to its bearers.
