Women’s First Day – Health Awareness Campaign

College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences organized an awareness day specially focused on women’s health. The event which witnessed a remarkable participation from all Colleges on campus, the day was filled with exciting and informative lectures by consultants and specialist doctors.

Dr. Dana Al-Hamawi, Medical Doctor, and Clinical Dietitian presented a lecture titled “Healthy Dietary Habits for a Healthy Lifestyle” it entailed updated scientific information about:-Body requirements between 18 - 25yrs, Dietary Life changes the lecture also highlighted some health problems like; Obesity, Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and Premenstrual syndrome (PMS).The lecture included a detailed outline of healthy steps for a healthy lifestyle and general advice for better health.

Dr. Saad Aswad, Consultant Gynecologist and Obstetrician, Tawam Hospital gave an insightful lecture about the Menstrual disorder in adolescents girls who go through more than the physical change.

Dr. Hala Sheikh Ali, Dermatologist gave a presentation about skincare for acne prone skin specially during adolescence, she focused on what female should know about acne and educated the audience about the importance of hygiene and personal care. While Dr. Dana Hamawi, a clinical dietician gave many presentations on the healthy benefits of a balanced diet and healthy food intake.

The female students went away with great information and equipped with the knowledge on managing the stress of adolescence and striking a balance in their health.
