Dr .Maria Jade Catalan- Opulencia is a Professor of Management at Ajman University. She completed her Ph.D. in Management at the University of Liverpool. Her main research interests include: entrepreneurship, innovation, women and leadership. She had published articles, edited and authored academic resource materials , reviewed and presented papers at international conferences. She garnered the Best Abstract on a Research Conference on 2016 and Best Paper Award in Canada and in Dubai on 2015. She had presented papers in Cambridge University and in Oxford University respectively. To enhance her research and teaching capabilities, she attended the Case Method Teaching Seminar at Harvard University on 2013. Dr. Opulencia has served the academe for more than two decades. Her passion to serve humanity brought her to attend the United Nations Leadership Summit in U.N HQ ,New York, USA in 2004.Furthermore, she had the opportunity to do immersion in Korea as ASEAN-KOICA scholar. Her innovation in designing curricular programs brought her to various commendations and awards from Rotary Club, Civil Service Commission and the Office of the President of Republic of the Philippines. She was a nominee for the 2016 Oxford Journal Top Educators Award in U.K.
