Ajman University hosts IEEE International Symposium on Signal Processing and Information Technology

Dr. Ahmed Ankit, Vice-President for External Relations and Cultural Affairs at Ajman University of Science and Technology's (AUST), has stated that the university's preparations for hosting the 9th IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) International Symposium on Signal Processing and Information Technology (IEEE ISSPIT 2009) are complete. The event, which will be held from December 14 to 16, will bring together researchers from a variety of countries, including the UAE, who will present their latest research on signal processing and information technology. On behalf of H.E. Dr. Saeed Salman, AUST President, Mr. Thamer Salman, Vice President of Administrative and Financial Affairs, will address the participants at the symposium's opening ceremony on December 14. Following this, more than 100 research papers will be presented during 27 technical sessions. In addition, there will be three plenary sessions during which experts will deliver presentations on recent developments in the fields of signal processing, wireless networks and communication systems. One plenary session will focus on building research capacity in the UAE; the speaker will be Dr. Kenneth Wilson, Director of the National Research Foundation (NRF) in the UAE.  

 

The symposium is co-sponsored by the IEEE Signal Processing and IEEE Computer Societies. The IEEE is the world's largest professional association for the advancement of technology, which brings together more than 380,000 of the world's most innovative minds from more than 160 countries.
