AUST holds Billiards and Chess Championships Finals

In preparation for the upcoming UAE Higher Education Institutions Sports Union (HEISU) championship and in line with Ajman University of Science and Technology (AUST)’s celebrations of the 39th UAE National Day, the Sports Supervision Department of the AUST Deanship of Student Affairs has organized the university’s billiards and chess championships which spanned more than tow weeks during which over 40 students competed in each game.

In the billiards championship results, Abdulhamid Abdurazak from the College of Law held the first position, while Mohammed Besher from the College of Engineering came second followed by his colleague Abdurahman Ibrahim and Anas Islam from the College of Information, Mass Communication and Humanities in the third and fourth positions respectively.

As to the chess championship results, the first position went to Omar Abdulwahab from the College of Law. Mohammed Eid Al-laham from the College of Education and Basic Sciences ranked second followed by Amro Naser from the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences who took the third position.

Commenting on these results, Captain Abdulhamid Bakour, AUST Sports Supervisor, expected that AUST billiards and chess teams would strongly compete for top prizes in the next HEISU championship.
