The IT College Wins the 2nd Prize at the Software Development Trade Show
The IT College students Duha Sultan Obaid Ali Al Sayegh, Samar S. H. Hasania and Noor Shafiq Rajab won the second prize at the 5th Edition of the Software Development Trade Show, organized by Wollongong University in Dubai (UOWD) on May 11th, 2011.
The project, which is a multimedia application called "Learn with Salma and Saleem", was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Mossab AlHunaity and support of Eng. Rawhi Alrai and aims at helping children with speech problems speak adequately.
This event attracted 18 teams from 7 higher education institutions: Khalifa University, Herriot Watt University, Manipal University, University of Dubai, Bits Pilani University, the University of Wollongong in Dubai and Ajman University of Science & Technology. All projects were evaluated by a panel of experts from the industry: Nauthoa Nass, General Manager of Intel Corporation for the Gulf countries, Ben D'Souza, Managing Director of Industry Networks - Sharjah, Sinan Sheikh, IBM Corporation - Dubai, and Dr. Sherief Abdallah, Lecturer of Informatics at the British University in Dubai.
