Ajman University Discusses Common Accreditation Standards for Bachelor of Pharmacy

The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Ajman University of Science & Technology took part in a meeting of the Scientific Association of Pharmacy Colleges in the Arab World, which was held in the Lebanese International University in Beirut. AUST was represented by Dr. Abdel Moula Ragab Abdel Karim, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and member of the Pharmacy Accreditation Committee of the Scientific Association of Pharmacy Colleges in the Arab World.

AUST delegate was received by Minister Abdel Rahim Morad, head of the Lebanese International University who welcomed the visiting delegates and expressed his admiration for the significant development achieved by Ajman University, praising the vision of Dr. Saeed Abdullah Salman, President of Ajman University.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Suheir Saleh, Dean of the College of Pharmacy at the Jordanian University of Applied Sciences, who welcomed the participating delegations and stressed out the mission of the meeting which geared towards improving access to pharmacy education and establishing common accreditation standards for Bachelor's degrees in pharmacy.

The participants discussed a finalized proposal for accreditation standards of Bachelor of Pharmacy degrees in the Arab world, which will be submitted for approval by the fourteenth Meeting of the Scientific Association of Pharmacy Colleges in the Arab World.

Worth mentioning, the next meeting of the Scientific Association will be hosted by Ajman University on 7-9 February 2012.
