College of Pharmacy Students Organize a Diabetes Awareness Event

On the occasion of the World Diabetes Day, female students from the college of Pharmacy and Health sciences organized a diabetes awareness session on Wednesday November 2011. The event took place in J1. And was supervised by the student scientific committee. The students measured blood pressure, blood glucose level and body mass index for students, staff and outpatients reported to AUST dental clinics.

It is worth noting that this a awareness is the first organized at the college level. It proved to be very useful to students since it gave them the chance to practice their profession and enhance their clinical skills as well as a benefit to the patients who appreciated the free tests. The tests were performed accurately and professionally, along with proper patient counseling according to the results. All results were recorded in printed forms.

After the success of the first day, the students made another awareness session in J2 on Thursday 17 November 2011.
