AUST Students Receive a Training Career Day at Dubai’s Mashreq Bank

Ajman University of Science and Technology‘s Community Service Department organized, in collaboration with INJAZ-UAE, a new Career Day Program for a group of 25 female students from the AUST College of Business Administration.

During the one-day program, which was geared at developing the students’ practical and professional background and introducing them to the world of work; the participants paid a visit to Mashreq Bank head office in Dubai, accompanied by Dr Mohammed Sadiq, Head of the Marketing Department in the College of Business Administration.

AUST students received a warm welcome from the heads of Mashreq Bank’s departments and were taken on a tour to get acquainted with the nature of work in banking sector and experience the art of customer service and the spirit of teamwork exercised in a real-life career setting.

The participants then started their first career day at the various corporate sections to which they were assigned. Mentors from these sections trained them on the key personal skills required to easily find their place on the contemporary job market, such as adaptation to working environment, stress management and ability to handle critical and emergency situations.

The Career Day Program initiative, which was launched late last year by AUST in partnership with INJAZ-UAE, provides unique opportunities for AUST students to engage in the business community, develop entrepreneurship capabilities and expand their career horizons.
