New Expansion to Accommodate 2370 Vehicles

In order to keep up with the steady increase in student intake, and provide students with easily accessible and closer parking lots, the management of Ajman University of Science & Technology has launched, starting this fall break, an expansion project to make room for more parking area inside the campus.

The expansion works, which will last for 20 days and will be completed before the end of the semester break, will add an additional 170 parking spaces in the men’s colleges, and will be strategically located close to all the University colleges. “This expansion will reduce considerably the crowdedness that occurs frequently during the evening classes,” said Dr, Mohamed Sherzad, Director of the University Facilities and Services Department. “Most students would rather park their cars near their colleges in an inappropriate manner, and keep the extramural parking area almost empty.”

Early this academic year AUST had completed a large shading project for a part of its intra and extramural parking areas. In addition a similar expansion project carried out last year in the women’s colleges had created 200 parking spaces. By the end of the current project, Ajman University will be able to accommodate 2370 vehicles; 1200 in the women’s side and 1170 in the men’s.
