“Preventive Driving” Program for Ajman University Drivers

Ajman University of Science and Technology, in cooperation with the Traffic and Licensing Department of Ajman Police General Headquarters, organized an awareness-raising program on “Preventive Driving” for the benefit of the drivers affiliated to the University Transportation Department. The program, which was coordinated by Captain Rashid Humaid bin Hindi, included a lecture delivered by Mr Mohammed Ali Al-Anbari, First Assistant at Ajman Police. Attending the session were Mr Gadhafi Hussein, University Transportation Officer, and Mr Salah Al-Haj, Transportation Coordinator, as well as thirty-two drivers from the same department.

The lecture outlined the basic traffic safety rules that would reduce road accidents and resulting human and material losses. The speaker also touched on certain particularly essential traffic signs and regulations about which drivers must be knowledgeable. He then addressed the main causes of car accidents and measures to prevent them, besides how to appropriately deal with accidents when they occur and the best way to anticipate and timely react to other drivers’ actions and errors.

At the end of the lecture, the AUST delegates were highly appreciative of the continuing support and constructive cooperation showed by the Ajman Traffic and Licensing Department in organizing such interesting community activities that contribute towards building a safe, accident-free environment.
