Ajman University Secures Third Position in the Futsal Championship
Sports Federation Championship for Higher Education Institutes witnessed many competitive matches wherein 16 teams participated representing various universities and colleges in the UAE.
The tournament held at the Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi saw the top four teams battle it out for the title. Mr. Abdul Hamid Bakour, Sports Supervisor, Department of Students Affairs ascertained that the students showed exemplary team spirit and hard-work, their outstanding performance which landed them the 3rd place in the National Tournament is remarkable.
Futsal is a variant of football that is played on a smaller field and mainly played indoors. It can be also defined as a five-a-side football. This game played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. The game is played on a hard court surface delimited by lines. Futsal is also played with a smaller ball with less bounce than a regular football due to the surface of the pitch.
