Pharmacy Conference Underway Amidst Stellar International Participation

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Majed Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Rulers Court attended the official opening of the the first International Conference of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ICPM) being organized by Ajman University in collaboration with Al Hazm Industrial Investment. The event got underway with opening speeches from Professor Khaled Al Saleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at AU and Professor Nageeb Hassan, Dean, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and Dr. Abdullah Khalfan Al Kindi, CEO, AL Hazm Industrial Investment.

This three day conference will witness stellar participation from international experts who will chair sessions, workshops and lectures all aimed towards the theme of the conference “Enhancing the Skills of Healthcare Providers to compete in the Job Market. The panelists hail from Canada, USA, Germany, India, Bahrain, Oman and UAE.

Professor Khaled Al Saleh highlighted. “The importance of health care systems and their impact on the quality of life and social welfare of people have been globally recognized. Accordingly, there is an increasing emphasis on enhancing healthcare services in order to ensure higher quality, wider access and better value for money. In recent years, training programs have been developed to equip healthcare professionals and students with formal quality improvement methods.

As a prominent comprehensive university that houses a wide range of health related programs, Ajman university is delighted to host this conference and to welcome you to discuss important topics related to Enhancing Skills of Healthcare Providers. This conference is aligned with our vision to be internationally recognized as one of the leading universities in the Arab world in terms of cutting-edge learning, impactful research and responsible outreach and community engagement.

Professor Nageeb Hassan, Dean College of Pharmacy stated  “Ajman University is committed to the health sector not only from a sheer academic perspective, but also from a social responsibility perspective, being a community-based and socially responsible institution.

Building a heathy public policy on the health sector requires intensive collaborative network that brings together academics, health care professionals and the health care industry.”

Dr. Najib stressed that the conference aims at strengthening the role of health care institutions, and the expansion of the perceptions of students, taking up this profession, in line with economic growth, promote employment, and the expansion of international cooperation in scientific research. He pointed out that the conference will have more than 20 insightful sessions covering different subjects, and 4 specialized workshops run by prominent figures, and more than 500 participants will attend the conference. There is on the sidelines a medical exhibition representing more than 61 companies offering their products and services.

The highlight of the first day was an agreement signed between AU and Al Hazm Industrial Investment, this is a landmark achievement for AU as the Company will recruit 25 graduates of the College of Pharmacy and Health Science. The CEO of Al Ham Industrial Investment Dr Abdullah AL Kindi is a proud of Alumni of AU, who had undertaken both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree at AU.
