AU, Jumaa Al Majid Center Organize Manuscripts Exhibition

The Department of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies at the College of Humanities and Sciences at Ajman University, and Jumaa Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage organized an exhibition of Arabic and Islamic manuscripts at Sheikh Zayed Center for Conferences & Exhibitions. The event was attended by the Dean of the College, faculty members, postgraduate students and a number of guests.

The exhibition witnessed a display of 8 original manuscripts of Jumaa Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage, the oldest of which was a copy of “Al-Mokhtar LelFatwa” by Abu Al-Fadl Al-Musli, who died in 683 Hijri. It was written on the10th   of Muharram 788 Hijri. A copy of Takhmis by Abu Bakr al-Lakhmi, who died in 645 Hijri. It was written on the 3rd of Rabie Al-Awal 973 Hijri.

The exhibition presented also a copy of Alfawa’ed Aldia’iyeh by Al-Jami who died in 898 Hijri. It was written in Safar 1085 Hijri. Among the original manuscripts was a copy of the book titled “Sharh AlMaqamat” by Ibn Hamamah Al-Sijlimasi, who died in the sixth century Hijri, and it was copied in the tenth century.
