Dr Alfreda graduated from the University of Western Australia with a B.Sc (Hons) and Ph.D (Neuroscience). She also obtained a Grad Dip in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. For four decades, Dr Alfreda had been teaching anatomy in various medical, dental or biomedical sciences schools around the world, ranging from Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, USA, Saudi Arabia and South Korea. She won many teaching awards during the course of her career and brings with her a wealth of experience in new course development. Her research is in the field of drug and alcohol addiction, as well as earlier works on Parkinson's disease. She is an active member of many learned societies of her field and served as board member on some of them.
