QS World University Ranking 2019 Lists AU Among

Ajman University ranks among the top 3% of universities worldwide, based on the QS World University Rankings 2019 which was released globally on June 6, 2018. Securing the spot for the first time, the report highlights AU’s ranking in the top 2% of universities in the Arab region and the top 8 in the UAE.

“Being ranked among the top 3% of universities in the world is a truly remarkable way to commemorate AU’s 30th Anniversary,” said Dr. Karim Seghir, AU Chancellor.  “AU’s debut in the prestigious QS World University Rankings firmly establishes our place on the global map – a goal set forth in our Strategic Plan and articulated by our vision of being internationally recognized as one of the leading universities in the Arab world.”

“Our 2019 edition of QS World University Rankings has raised the bar even higher for measuring universities from around the world,” said Ashwin Fernandes, Regional Director for QS in MENA. “Out of the 1000 universities we have ranked globally this year, just 8 of them are from the United Arab Emirates, and I am happy to see that Ajman University has broken into this elite list. This shows the tireless efforts the leadership, administration, faculty and students have put in for the last few years.”

AU’s passion for innovation helped the university earn its spot among the top institutions globally. With a student body representing 72 nations and faculty from 32 different countries, Ajman University was noted by QS for international diversity.

This report coincides with the figures revealed by another recent QS report, recognising the Dubai-Sharjah-Ajman region among the world’s top 100 destinations for students.
