PROGRAM LEARNING OUTCOMES:
On successful completion of the Bachelor of Allied Dental Sciences program, graduates will be able to:
1.1. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, oral biology, and microbiology relevant to dental nursing practice.
1.2. Explain the principles of infection control, patient safety, and cross-infection prevention in clinical and community dental care settings.
1.3. Understand the pharmacological agents commonly used in dental treatments, including pain management and emergency care.
2.1. Apply clinical techniques in assisting with a wide range of dental procedures, including restorative, surgical, orthodontic, and preventive care.
2.2. Utilize appropriate dental instruments, materials, and technologies safely and effectively.
2.3. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams using both verbal and written modes.
3.1. Demonstrate accountability for professional practice within the scope of dental nursing, adhering to ethical and legal standards.
3.2. Take responsibility for continuous self-learning, professional development, and engaging in reflective practice.
3.3. Work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary dental team to optimize patient care.
PROGRAM COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS (GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS):
Students will be awarded the Bachelor of Allied Dental Sciences (BSc.ADS) degree upon fulfillment of the following requirements:
