Course Description

This is the second course in the clinical training sequence, conducted during the first half of the second year of the program. Under the supervision of clinical instructors, students continue active patient care and participate in treatment planning discussions. Emphasis is placed on progressing through the initial phase of treatment for patients with moderate complexity, while fostering increased clinical independence and self-directed learning. Students are expected to regularly review their case progress with the course coordinator to ensure adequate case volume for graduation requirements. Proper documentation and record-keeping of all treated cases is required for inclusion in the clinical portfolio, to be submitted at the end of the program.
