Dr. Arief Cahyanto is an Associate Professor in the College of Dentistry at Ajman University, UAE, and a member of the Dental Biomaterials and Clinical Translational Research Group at CMBHSR. His research focuses on the development, characterization, and biological evaluation of bioactive and restorative dental materials, including calcium phosphate biomaterials, resin composites, glass ionomers, nanomaterials, regenerative systems, and 3D-printed materials. His work integrates physicochemical, mechanical, antimicrobial, antibiofilm, and biocompatibility assessments to support clinically relevant applications. His interdisciplinary research bridges dentistry, materials science, bioengineering, and biomedical sciences, with a strong emphasis on translational biomaterials.

  • Pulp-capping and regenerative materials: development and evaluation of materials intended to support dentin-pulp healing and regeneration.
  • Nanomaterials and antimicrobial biomaterials: functional nanoscale components for improved physicochemical, antibacterial, antibiofilm, and biological performance.
  • 3D-printed dental materials: dimensional accuracy, post-processing, material optimization, and clinical performance of digitally fabricated dental materials.
  • Translational research and evidence synthesis: linking laboratory biomaterials research with clinically meaningful outcomes, including systematic review and meta-analysis.
