Ajman University’s DBA Marks a Major Milestone with 20 Dissertation Completions

Ajman University’s College of Business Administration is pleased to announce a major milestone in its Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program: the successful completion of 20 dissertation defenses since the program was launched in Fall 2019–2020. This achievement reflects the steady growth of the program and the commitment of its candidates, faculty, and dissertation committees. 

The DBA at Ajman University is designed for working professionals who seek to strengthen their research capability and apply research to real business and management challenges. The program requires 60 credit hours and offers both Management and Education tracks. In 2022, the DBA received AACSB accreditation, making it one of only five doctorate programs in the UAE with this recognition. 

The 20 completed dissertations cover a wide range of applied topics, including healthcare management, finance and risk, leadership, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, sustainability, and public-sector performance. Together, these dissertations show a clear research direction in four broad areas: risk, finance, and governance; healthcare and service systems; leadership, people, and organizations; and digital transformation, innovation, and sustainability.

This milestone also reflects strong quality assurance in the dissertation defense process. Each viva included a formal committee with internal and external academic review. Across the 20 completed dissertations, external examiners were mainly professors and associate professors drawn from institutions in the UAE, the United Kingdom, Qatar, Malaysia, and the United States, including several top QS-ranked universities. 

Reaching 20 dissertation completions is an important step in the growth of the DBA. It confirms Ajman University’s commitment to doctoral research that is rigorous, applied, and relevant to business and society in the UAE and beyond.
