Ajman University (AU), marking the World Diabetes Day, has run a special forum to spread awareness about the chronic disease. The forum, delivered by Dr Martin Verhelst, shed light on the importance of controlling diabetes in view of the increasing number of diabetic people in the UAE. Students of the AU Colleges of Dentistry, Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and Biomedical Engineering were so keen to attend the informative and enlightening forum. Meanwhile, AU students actively participated in a roundtable discussion on Type-1 diabetes at the Ramada Hotel. Inspiring stories of people diagnosed with diabetes were shared during the event that attracted a big number of students and locals from UAE community. According to the International Diabetes Federation, 425 million people worldwide have diabetes and one in every two people with diabetes is undiagnosed.

We listened and supported the people whose lives are touched by diabetes and learn from them.
