Course Description

This course aims at providing students with recent architectural trends and developments in the Arab World during the 20th century and the present time. In this course students will be taught about the general circumstances underlying architectural development and transformation periods in the Arab World during the 20th century.   They will be able to understand the identity concept in architecture and various issues connected with it, particularly those connected with regionalism and globalization in architecture and the different approaches employed.  Students will also be familiar with theories and conceptual approaches of most of the pioneers of contemporary architecture of the Arab World.
