Research Day at Ajman University’s Digital Transformation Research Center

Ajman University’s College of Business Administration (CBA) and the AU Digital Transformation Research Center (DTRC) jointly organized a Research Day on November 11th, 2022 from 9:50 to 18:00. The event was chaired by Prof. Guangming Cao, head of DTRC. It began with a welcome speech by Prof. Akinola Fadahunsi, Dean of CBA, followed by seven research presentations. Two of the sessions were delivered by DTRC Adjunct Research Professor Trevor Cadden from the University of Ulster Business School in the United Kingdom. The first was a keynote speech on the Role of Digital Technologies in Supply Chain Management and the second was a capacity training session on how to publish papers academically.

Prof. Trevor Cadden specializes in Operations Management. He has considerable experience in Supply Chain Management and Operations Management.  His experience working for many years in US multinationals in supply chain systems implementation, project management, inventory control and management, and performance measurement has provided a fundamental platform for his career in academia. Prof Cadden is regularly involved in a range of consultancy projects across sectors based on his knowledge of supply chain and operations management. ‎ He has 30+ externally peer-reviewed research outputs, focusing on a range of supply chain issues, such as digital transformation, Big Data Analytics, Blockchain, culture, innovation, and environmental practices. He is widely published in many high-quality journals, such as Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Information Management, and Production Planning and Control. 

Prof. Marcus L. Stephenson, Dean of the School of Hospitality and Service Management at Sunway University, Malaysia, presented on Deciphering ‘Destination Dubai’ from a Sociological Perspective.

Four DTRC members, who have published high-quality peer-reviewed papers in international journals, also presented their research. Prof. Tamer Elshandidy talked about Best Practices in publishing. Prof. Chris I. Enyinda presented his research on the mediating effect of marketing, HR, and IT strategies on the relationship between business strategy and B2B firm performance. Dr. Muhammad Zia Ul Haq delivered his presentation on the impact of human resources and IT on supply chain learning and operational performance. Dr. Antony Andrews presented his research on Time series forecasting of tourist arrivals using the Bayesian Structural Time Series.

18 faculty members from CBA/DTRC and other colleges actively participated in the research day. They highly appreciated the presentations and the opportunity to share research ideas.
