Dr Muhammad Hanif is Selected to Participate in US Program for Scholars on Economics and Sustainable Development

The College of Business Administration is pleased to announce that Dr Muhammad Hanif, Associate Professor of Finance and the Noor Bank Endowed Professor of Islamic Finance has been selected as a principal participant for the Summer 2023 Study of the U.S. Institute (SUSI) for Scholars on U.S. Economics and Sustainable Development. The program is scheduled to run in the United States of America from July 1st through August 10th, 2023, and includes a four-week academic residency at Amherst and Boston, Massachusetts, as well as an integrated study tour of up to two weeks in New York City and Washington, DC.

The Institute on U.S. Economics and Sustainable Development will provide participants with a deeper understanding of key components and structures of the U.S. economy.  Using a multidisciplinary approach, the program will explore various topics of socioeconomics; how financial institutions, investors and businesses interact to support sustainable economic development, innovation, and growth; and increasing diverse and equitable employment through institutional regulation, social inclusion strategies, and private and public policies.  Dr Hanif and other participants will examine the interplay of climate change, U.S. business innovation, corporate regulation, entrepreneurship, and economic theory. They will have opportunities to learn about key institutions and stakeholders in the U.S. economy and meet with a diverse range of business leaders and small business owners, among others.

Dr. Hanif shared his delight at the selection. He said “I am very happy to know that my selection for the prestigious SUSI 2023 is confirmed. I am thankful to the sponsors as well as the management at Ajman University for providing me with this exciting learning opportunity. I am looking forward to joining up with the global community of scholars this summer.
