FACT Club Brings Financial Literacy to Life at the Club Fair 2026

The Finance and Accounting Club (FACT Club) brought banking, investing and financial decision-making to life at Ajman University’s Club Fair 2026 through a creative and highly interactive booth. The aim was simple: to make financial literacy more accessible and engaging and give students an opportunity to think about money, investing and financial choices in a setting that was social, practical and enjoyable.

The booth itself attracted considerable attention. FACT Club members built a handmade ATM and created a photo area with a mirror surrounded by dollar bills, which quickly became a popular spot for students and faculty members. The visual design drew people in, while the games and activities encouraged them to stay, participate and talk about finance.

One of the biggest attractions was the “Guess the Net Worth” challenge. Participants were shown two well-known personalities and asked to guess who had the higher net worth. The activity encouraged students to look beyond appearances and think about the different paths people take in building wealth. It quickly became competitive, with students, faculty members and university leadership joining in. At one point, approximately 30–40 students participated simultaneously, and the organisers divided them into two competing teams.

Another central feature of the booth was the question “Are You Destined to Become a Millionaire?” The aim was not simply to focus on becoming wealthy, but to get students thinking about investing, financial knowledge and the choices that can shape long-term financial outcomes.

The “What Is Your Worst Financial Decision?” activity took a different approach. Visitors were invited to share financial mistakes they had made or seen others make. The activity provided a light-hearted opportunity to discuss spending, saving and poor financial choices, while also allowing participants to learn from one another’s experiences.

Juman Muhsenah, an Ajman University Finance graduate and Financial Markets Lab Assistant, highlighted the importance of making financial concepts accessible to students.

“The booth gave students the opportunity to explore financial concepts in an enjoyable and accessible way. The activities encouraged people to think about wealth, financial decisions and the different paths individuals take to achieve financial success,” she said.

FACT Club President Bassem Nasser reflected on the enthusiastic participation of students in the interactive activities.

“What stood out most was seeing so many students competing in the net-worth game and enjoying themselves while learning something about finance. It showed us that financial education can be interactive, competitive and genuinely enjoyable,” he said.

The booth also gave FACT Club members an opportunity to connect with the wider university community. Students and faculty members from the College of Business Administration joined the activities, and the fair attracted a number of new members who have since become part of the FACT Club community.

Dr Daniel Gyimah, Associate Professor at the College of Business Administration, praised the students’ efforts to promote financial planning through engaging activities. He commented:

“The activities encouraged students to take personal financial planning seriously. What made the session stand out was not only the content, but also the students’ active advocacy for financial planning. I had the opportunity to play a couple of the finance games and thoroughly enjoyed them.”

The Club Fair helped build momentum for future FACT Club activities. Club members also participated in the Sharjah Investment Forum in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Club, and further initiatives are being discussed, including a possible Shark Tank-style event where students can explore entrepreneurship, pitch business ideas and engage more directly with investment concepts.

The event demonstrated that financial education does not need to remain inside the classroom. Through games, discussion and student-led activities, FACT Club created a space where students could learn about finance while enjoying the experience.
