Research Meets Reality: Ajman University and 7X Mark a Milestone in Sustainable Logistics

Ajman University doctoral graduate Dr. Wafa Mohammed Ebrahim Al Mazrouei presented the findings of her Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) research to the executive leadership of 7X (Emirates Post Group PJSC), the UAE's leading trade, transport, and logistics group. The meeting brought academic insight and industry experience together to explore how research can support the future of sustainable logistics in the UAE.

Completed at Ajman University's College of Business Administration, the research, “The Dynamics of Sustainable Value Creation in the UAE Parcel Delivery Market,” confronts a question facing every logistics operator in the region: how to grow profitably while delivering faster, cleaner, and smarter. Its answer reframes sustainability not as a cost to be managed, but as a source of competitive advantage, showing how financial performance, environmental responsibility, and service quality can advance together rather than in tension.

The work was supervised by Prof. Emrah Demir of Cardiff Business School and Prof. Tamer Elshandidy of Ajman University, pairing international logistics expertise with local academic leadership.

The session opened with a presentation to the leadership team of 7X, accompanied by an executive summary that distilled the research into clear, decision-ready insight. Discussions focused on how the principles behind efficient, lower-emission, customer-centred delivery can be applied within a rapidly evolving sector, as e-commerce volumes continue to grow and environmental expectations rise across the Emirates.

In a fitting close, Dr. Al Mazrouei presented 7X with a copy of her completed dissertation, while the company honoured her with a trophy of appreciation. The meeting also marked a forward step in the collaboration between Ajman University and 7X, with 7X expressing its commitment to supporting future research and continuing its collaboration with the University. The milestone reflects Ajman University's broader mission to produce research that not only advances knowledge, but also contributes to the UAE's vision for a more sustainable and competitive economy.
