College of Mass Communication Honors Winners of Photography, Video, and Research Competitions

As part of its commitment to nurturing the next generation of media professionals, Ajman University’s College of Mass Communication hosted an engaging exhibition recognizing the outstanding achievements of students in a recent media competition. Inspired by the College’s immersive educational field trip to the Dubai Heritage Area, the competition invited students to submit entries in three categories: Best Expressive Photograph, Best Short Video (Reel), and Best Research Idea.

The event showcased the winning projects, reflecting how students translated their academic insights into compelling visual and research narratives. Mohammed Al-Taie earned first place for Best Research Idea, Rawan Al-Najjar received the award for Best Photograph, and Hassan Raisi won Best Short Video. All participants were honored with certificates of appreciation for their creativity, storytelling, and critical thinking.

In his remarks, Dr. Hosam Salama, Dean of the College, emphasized that the initiative reflects the College’s strategic vision of combining theory with hands-on experience to equip students with career-ready skills. A dynamic discussion followed the exhibition, where students engaged with faculty members, including Dr. Emad Omer, Head of the Media Department. Faculty offered constructive feedback and shared insights on how students can elevate their content to meet global media standards.

Dr. Salama concluded the event by commending the high caliber of submissions and extended appreciation to the faculty who mentored the students and supported the exhibition: Prof. Maha Attia, Prof. Tarek Abdellatif, Ms. Assma Al Temnah, and Mr. Mohammed Omar.

Through initiatives like this, the College of Mass Communication continues to empower students to lead, create, and contribute meaningfully to the evolving media landscape.
