College of Mass Communication Organizes Seminar on Enhancing Scientific Citations in Media Studies

The Scientific Research Committee at the College of Mass Communication, chaired by Prof. Maha Attia, organized a specialized seminar discussing the mechanisms and rules for enhancing scientific citations in media studies. Attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Hosam Slama, and the Head of Department, Dr. Emad Eldin, along with faculty members.

The seminar was presented by Prof. Sang Lee, who explored a range of practical considerations and guidelines aimed at increasing citation rates for media research. He emphasized that the primary goal of this process is to amplify the impact and reach of research within global academic circles. During the presentation, Prof. Sang Lee discussed how different types of research—whether quantitative or qualitative—affect the citation experience and the extent to which a study can be utilized as a reference by other scholars.

Furthermore, the seminar highlighted the significance and implications of scientific citations as a key metric for measuring research quality and its real contribution to the development of communication knowledge. At the conclusion of the seminar, Dr. Hosam Slama and Dr. Emad Eldin praised the informative content and the efforts involved in organizing the event. They underscored the importance of such discussions in providing faculty members with the necessary tools to increase the global visibility of their research and elevate the overall academic and research performance of the college.
