College of Mass Communication Welcomes the Second Batch of Master’s in Digital Media Students

In a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere marking the start of a new academic journey, the College of Mass Communication celebrated the second batch of its Master of Digital Media program during a welcoming orientation that brought students together with the college's administration and faculty members.

The event was attended by Dr. Hosam Slama, Dean of the College, and Dr. Emad Eldin Omer, Head of the Department, alongside faculty members. They welcomed the new students, emphasizing the College’s commitment to ensuring their academic journey begins with direct communication and continuous support.

Dr. Hosam Slama expressed his delight at the diverse backgrounds of the new batch, which includes students and graduates from various academic disciplines and universities, as well as professionals working across different institutions and organizations. He noted that this diversity reflects the interdisciplinary nature of digital media and underscores the growing need for academic programs capable of adapting to the rapid transformations in the digital communication landscape, serving professionals and learners from multiple backgrounds.

The gathering went beyond a standard program overview; it provided an open platform to listen to the students, address their questions and aspirations, and discuss various aspects of interest as they commence their studies. Furthermore, the faculty detailed the study plan, course structures, teaching and assessment methods, and overall program requirements, enabling students to form a clear picture of their academic path from the very beginning.

The orientation also served as a valuable networking opportunity for students and professors to build bridges of communication—a connection the College strives to maintain throughout their studies. This engagement allows students to benefit from the academic and professional expertise of the faculty while discussing their own interests and ambitions in the field of digital media.

This initiative stems from the College of Mass Communication's dedication to ensuring that students feel they are part of a supportive academic community from day one. By making dialogue and active listening foundational to their educational experience, the College aims to foster an environment that stimulates learning, creativity, and achievement.
