Dr. Hosam Slama, Dean of the College of Mass Communication, met with student peer tutors to recognize their vital role in fostering academic excellence. Held at the college, the meeting was attended by Dr. Emad Omar, Head of the Mass Communication Department, alongside peer tutoring supervisors Dr. Nasr Eldin and Dr. Amal Nabil.
Praising their dedication through the Student Success Center, Dr. Slama emphasized that peer tutoring goes beyond academic assistance. He noted that their collaborative efforts build a highly supportive campus environment, instilling a strong sense of belonging and community among students.
The Dean highlighted the mutual benefits of the initiative, explaining that the experience allows tutors to deepen their own academic knowledge. Furthermore, it equips them with essential professional skills—such as effective communication, leadership, and teamwork—while significantly boosting their self-confidence and sense of responsibility.
Reviewing recent academic performance metrics, Dr. Slama pointed out the direct, positive impact peer tutors have on the college's overall success rates. He urged the students to continue their crucial work, particularly in guiding peers facing academic challenges, empowering them to improve their performance and stay motivated.
Concluding the session, the Dean extended his sincere gratitude to the peer tutors and their faculty supervisors, commending their impactful mission and wishing them continued success in uplifting the student body.
