The course was designed for students in undergraduate health to offer an in-depth exploration of medical liability law with a focus on UAE Federal Decree-Law No. (4) of 2016 on Medical Liability. It provides a comprehensive overview of the legal framework governing healthcare in the UAE, including the concept of criminal responsibility for healthcare professionals and the elements that constitute a crime. The course examines both the material and moral elements of a crime, the methods for establishing criminal responsibility, the penalties for liability, and the jurisdiction over medical liability cases. Additionally, it addresses key issues and challenges related to medical liability within the UAE healthcare system.
