Dr. Ross is a Physician Scientist (World’s Top 2%), senior administrator and educator with over 25 years of international experience. His expertise lies in the realm of administration, medical education, medical research, rural, remote and global health, metabolic syndrome, disease control, pandemic planning, and enteric vaccination. Prof. Ross completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology (B.Sc.) and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Human Biology in Canada before proceeding to Brisbane, Australia where he completed a Doctorate in Public Health (Ph.D., Tropical health) with High Distinction and Vice Chancellor Commendation, a Doctorate of Medicine (M.D.), and a Doctorate of Medical Science (D.Sc.) through the University of Queensland. He completed a Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine (M.Med., IM) with Distinction through the University of Sydney. He is the author or co-author on over 185 international peer reviewed publications (Q1), book chapters, perspectives, and clinical reviews with a Google Scholar H-index of 52 and over 11,000 citations. In total he has attracted $42 million USD for 29 research studies (and the establishment of a rural health research institute) including 12 clinical trials (e.g., Phase I-IV on schistosomiasis, flu, HPV, RSV, polio, COVID-19, TB, and Nipa virus). This research has been funded by the NHMRC, CEPI, Path, The Serum Institute of India, UNDP/World Bank, Swiss Science Foundation, Public Health Agency of Canada, CIHR, UBS Optimus Foundation, Sanofi Pasteur, GLOBVAC, Seqirus UK Ltd., Gates Foundation, Beximco Pharma, CDC, USA, GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals and the Commonwealth Government of Australia. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom, Fellow of the Royal College of Pathology in the United Kingdom, Fellow of the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine, Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health in the United Kingdom and Fellow of the Royal Society of New South Wales, Australia.
