Course Description
This course aims to develop the student’s understanding of the Islamic Culture and Thought. It familiarizes students with the Islamic vocabulary, concepts and values as well with a clear and detailed background on the religion of Islam. This course discusses the concept of culture, introduction to Islam, Islamic faith and beliefs, sources of legislation and characteristics of Islam, and deals with some contemporary topics such as the concept of human rights in Islam, woman status, globalization, violence, and environmental ethics.
