AUST Fujairah: Organizes First Media Production Forum

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Chairman of Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, the College of Information, Mass Communication and Humanities at Ajman University of Science and Technology in Fujairah organized the first edition of the Media Production Forum. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Mohammed Saeed Dhanhani, Vice-Chairman of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority. The event is a platform to display the projects of AUST media students in various media forms such as photography, audiovisuals, multimedia and, advertisement.

Mr. Osama Saeed Salman, AUST Vice President, stated that Ajman University is keen on organizing and promoting such practical activities that help develop the skills of graduating students who will be better fit to compete and meet the requirements of the job market, especially in the field of media.

The participation of AUST students in scientific conferences, workshops and cultural forums stimulates scientific and academic research and is an excellent form of outreach to the Fujairah community. It also assists in developing the students’ intellectual and cognitive skills while driving them to achieve innovative excellence in their chosen media field. These conferences are a result of the keen emphasis given by the University to scientific research.

AUST Vice President praised the role of the media college in strengthening and promoting cooperation with government and private institutions through conferences, seminars, and partnership agreements. Particularly this convention, which strengthens cooperation between the University and the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, allows the University to assist in the scientific and academic progress of the Emirate of Fujairah.

On the sidelines of the forum, the college of media’s new and state-of-the-art audiovisual studio was inaugurated. Several media students were also honored for their creative work at this event.

It is noteworthy that the College of Information, Mass Communication and Humanities is keen on organizing a media rendezvous every year to assess and display the projects of students in the different fields of media. Their application of academic knowledge in practical and more industry-focused projects encourages them to land stable and excellent jobs in the market.
