From graduation project to a dream come true

A graduation project becomes a dream come true for Manar Emad Daher, a graduate of “ Thank You Khalifa” class 2014 and currently an assistant lecturer at the College of Information, Mass Communication & Humanities.

Little did this girl know when preparing her graduation project on the famous novel “Lantern of Al Jaleel King” by the renowned and her favorite author Ibrahim Nasarallah that her accolade winning project would be featured in the Sharjah International Book Fair, (SIBF)2014. The journey of this project does not end at an international book fair but takes her further and realizes the one dream every book reader has – to meet the author in person!

Her project was displayed at the SIBF and while there the celebrated author visited her project and she presented him with four graphic artwork covers for his book and was able to express her ardent love for his writing and books. He held all his press talks and interviews against the backdrop of her project.  It’s worthy to note that this book is taught as an Arabic literature in a University half way across the world in Rome, He has penned numerous award winning books as well.

Expressing her views on this beautiful coincidence, her eyes lit up with a sparkle and enthusiasm as she explained her reason to choose this book as her graduation project, “the story is about my hometown, though I have never visited it, the book made it real for me. I can imagine the city of Al Jaleel, its streets, sound, smell and the life people enjoy there. I have read the book so many times, that I lost count. It’s not just a story about Palestine but the story of mankind and how lives are affected and changed by certain event”.
