Media Research: Insights and Contributions of College of Mass Communication Students

The College of Mass Communication held the Scientific Forum for College Students in February. In line with Ajman University's and the college's keenness to provide the best possible means to enhance students’ participation and activities, the forum was held as part of the activities of the College’s Scientific Research Committee, in parallel between physical and remote attendance.

The forum was attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Hossam Salameh, and The Program coordinator Dr. Emad Omar, with the participation and attendance of many faculty members and students from different specializations.

The Student Abdul-Malik Al-Zahrani presented his research about the expectations of students of graphic design for the requirements of the labor market and their preferences in the labor market. The Student Ola Ismail gave a presentation on interactive advertisements via smartphones and their effects on their users, she applied her study on a sample of Arab youth to study the effects on them. The student, Heba Hamad, addressed the visual identity and its impact on tourism promotion by applying the visual identity of the United Arab Emirates. The student, Nariman Zain Al-Din, presented her study on the exposure of a sample of Arab youth to a Korean band, and the motives and effects of that exposure.

The forum was coordinated by Prof. Maha Abdel Majeed, Chairman of the Scientific Research Committee at the college, with the attendance of the college professors and students. The participants received many comments and inquiries to develop their research idea, titles, and methodological aspects, thus it contributed to strengthening the dialogue between Media students in the scientific and academic aspects related to their specialization. This is consistent with the university's vision and efforts to encourage student scientific research and develop and support the scientific talents of young researchers.
