Ajman University Celebrates International Elders Day

Sociology Department at the College of Mass Communication and Humanities in conjunction with Community Services Department at Ajman University of Science and Technology celebrated the International Elders Day on campus. Every year in October, this day pays tribute to the seniors who are a vital part of our society.

Dr. Hussam Salama, Dean of the College Faculty of Mass Communication and Humanities initiated the event in the presence of Heads of Department, Faculty members and staff. The guest of honor were the members of the old people homes in Ajman and Sharjah, who enjoyed the exhibition and beautiful displays of culture and heritage. There were stalls with traditional cuisine and handicraft like Talli for all the visitors to experience.

Elders enthralled the young students with stories of yesteryears, they talked about the old lifestyle, weapons, medicine and poems that were famous in singing praises about the folklore. They also thanked the leadership of UAE for their care and welfare of the elders.
