College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences organizes a guest lecture on “Parenteral Nutrition”

On the 19th of March 2023, the College organized a guest lecture on “Parenteral Nutrition” for the MSc in Clinical Pharmacy students. The resource person was Phr. Rami Diab, IV and TPN Pharmacist from the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Ajman.  During the lecture, Phr. Rami addressed various aspects of parenteral nutrition therapy such as its historical evolution, various formulation, and compounding aspects of parenteral nutrition. He further discussed on the various benefits and challenges associated with parenteral nutrition and provided clinical scenarios from his practice experience.  There were also case discussions shared with the students and solutions offered during the session. The students appreciated the lecture and mentioned their willingness to attend more such lectures from experts in the practice field.  

The Coordinator of MSc. Program Dr. Sanah Hasan emphasized that the MSc in Clinical Pharmacy program is aimed at equipping the graduates with contemporary skills needed for clinical pharmacy practice in the country, and that the College is committed to providing clinical skills to the students through invited guest lectures and clinical rotations during experiential education.
