A Faculty from the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences participated in a Prehospital Care Forum of UCLA

Mrs. Alaa Al Amiry, Lecturer at COPHS, was hosted by The UCLA Center for Prehospital Care on their research forum, to discuss with her co-author, Dr. Brian Maguire, their latest publication. The live interview, which is posted at YouTube, discussed in details their research titled “Occupational Injuries and Illnesses among Paramedicine Clinicians: Analyses of US Department of Labor Data (2010 – 2020)” and depicted the inherent risk of injury and illness that comes with paramedicine clinicians in the USA. They also discussed the policy implications and recommendations derived from the research that is believed to inform decision makers in the emergency medical services (EMS) profession for safer work environment to their employees. The live podcast was attended by the panel of research forum at UCLA, and by more than 30 students from their Center for Prehospital Care. The mission of this podcast is to promote, educate and disseminate prehospital research conducted at all provider levels to advance and challenge the future of EMS.
