Ajman University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Strengthens Strategic Partnership with Saudi German Group to include research and wider community engagement

Ajman, UAE – October 6, 2025, A delegation from COPHS, Dr. Subish Palaian, Coordinator of the Experiential Learning Office, Dr. Omar Smadi, Clinical Assistant Professor at Nursing Department, and Ms. Alaa Farajallah, Senior Instructor, met with Saudi German group representatives, including Mr. Assem Ali Elsayed, Academic Affairs Manager of the Saudi German group and Ms. Abi Thomas Ayroor, Nursing Director of Saudi German Hospital, Sharjah and the Nursing Team within the hospital. Saudi German group is an MoU partner of the COPHS, training pharmacy and Nursing students at their three JCI-accredited hospitals in Ajman, Sharjah, and Dubai. The meeting aimed to strategically advance the partnership into new avenues for joint initiatives.

 

The discussion yielded concrete plans for collaborative academic, research, and community engagement initiatives.

Key areas of agreement include:

  • Joint Health Awareness Campaigns: Collaborating on high-impact events such as World Antibiotic Awareness Week.
  • Knowledge Exchange: Inviting Saudi German Group staff to serve as guest lecturers at COPHS to share their clinical expertise with the students and staff at COPHS.
  • Joint Research Projects: Initiating new research collaborations leveraging the strengths of both institutions.
  • Patient Safety Initiatives: Planning a dedicated “Patient Safety Week” focusing on critical care themes, including emergency response.

 

Dean Professor Abeer AlGhananeem emphasized the significance of this expansion: “The Saudi German Group is a trusted partner, and COPHS is dedicated to extending this collaboration to explore the mutual strengths of both our institutions.
