Ajman University Enhances Student Employability through Industry-Co-Delivered Session in Pharmaceutical Analysis

In a landmark example of academic–industry collaboration, Ajman University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, in partnership with FANDA Scientific, hosted a four-hour, hands-on teaching session in the Pharmaceutical Analysis II course. The session featured the co-delivery of the full chapter on Fluorometric Analysis, supported by a live demonstration of the advanced HORIBA Duetta Fluorescence & Absorbance Spectrometer.

In a truly global experience, industry experts from HORIBA joined the session live from France and Tunisia, enriching the discussion with international perspectives and offering students a unique opportunity to interact with leading scientists in real time. The session seamlessly integrated academic instruction with live demonstrations and hands-on sample analysis, showcasing pharmaceutical applications such as Drug–Nanoparticle Interaction, Protein–Ligand Binding Assays, Enzyme Inhibition, Solubility & Stability Testing and ROS Detection in Cells.

Prof. Abeer Alghananeem, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, commented:
"This collaborative session exemplifies our mission to bridge academic knowledge with global industry practices. Giving students access to international experts and live technology demonstrations ensures they graduate with the skills and perspective needed for the future of pharmaceutical science."

Dr. Akram Ashames, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and course instructor, added:
"The presence of HORIBA experts from France and Tunisia, alongside our local partners, transformed a classroom session into a global learning experience. This integration of industry and academia equips our students with real-world insights and competencies that employers value."

This initiative is part of Ajman University’s Revitalizing Instruction, Skills & Education (AU RISE) Strategy which embeds innovation, employability, and external engagement across all teaching and learning practices.
