Dubai, UAE – [6th October 2025]
The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Ajman University (AU) proudly announces a major milestone for its newly launched Physiotherapy Program, highlighting both academic leadership and emerging student excellence on the global stage.
Dr. Hamzeh Awad, Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Physiotherapy Department, served as the Chair of the prestigious 13th World Congress on Physiotherapy, Physical Rehabilitation, and Sports Medicine, held recently in Dubai, UAE. His appointment as Chair underscores Ajman University’s growing influence and leadership in shaping the future of rehabilitative science and healthcare innovation.
This year’s congress was particularly historic for AU, marking the first-ever participation of Ajman University’s Physiotherapy students in this internationally recognized event. Their active engagement and contribution signified an important step for the College in promoting global exposure and hands-on learning in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation sciences.
“It was truly inspiring to witness our students engage with and learn from global leaders in Physiotherapy,” said Dr. Awad. “They were exposed to cutting-edge research and best practices from countries including Malaysia, Turkey, KSA, and many others. This interaction validates the high standard of education and professional readiness that we are fostering in our newly established program.”
Professor Abeer AlGhananeem, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, emphasized the broader significance of this achievement: “Participation in the World Congress reflects our commitment to preparing students for the ever-evolving global healthcare landscape. The College continuously encourages students to engage in international conferences, workshops, and professional events—essential platforms for networking, knowledge exchange, and developing leadership skills in the international physiotherapy community.”
Ajman University’s presence at this year’s congress not only celebrated its academic excellence but also reaffirmed its vision to empower future physiotherapists with global perspectives, scientific rigor, and a strong commitment to advancing patient-centered care.
