The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences has joined a nationwide volunteering effort aimed at strengthening community health and promoting social responsibility across the UAE. The initiative—organized by Emirates Foundation under the TAKATOF Social Volunteering Program—took place on November 15 and is part of the Foundation’s broader mission to expand community support and encourage volunteer engagement.
Launched in alignment with the national theme, “Year of Community 2025,” the campaign is dedicated to enhancing public health awareness among various population groups. As part of this effort, Emirates Foundation hosted the “Public Safety Examinations” campaign in Ajman, offering vital medical and safety screenings to 1,500 workers.
Twenty students from the College’s Pharmacy and Nursing programs played an active role in the campaign, assisting licensed healthcare professionals at screening stations throughout the day. Their contribution helped ensure a smooth, efficient process for participants and demonstrated the college’s strong commitment to experiential learning, community service, and interprofessional collaboration.
Commenting on the college’s participation, Prof. Abeer AlGhananeem, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, said: “The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences remains firmly committed to serving the community through impactful initiatives that promote public health, advance awareness, and strengthen the role of healthcare education in society. I commend our students for their active engagement in this national initiative, which reflects their readiness to contribute meaningfully to the healthcare sector and uphold the principles of responsible practice.”
