COPHS Academic Staff Presents Insulin Pump Research in Thailand

Senior Instructor Ms. Alaa Farajallah participated in the “4th Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice 2025 Conference”, held from November 12th to 14th, 2025, at Rangsit University in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference theme was "Pharmacy Policy and Practice Strategies: Shaping the Future of Healthcare”.

Ms. Farajallah presented a qualitative study titled: “More than a device: Mothers’ perspectives on the life-changing impact of insulin pumps in children with diabetes in the United Arab Emirates.”  The research, co-authored with her team, explores the profound experiences and perspectives of mothers in the UAE regarding the perceived benefits of insulin pump therapy for their children living with diabetes.  The study emphasizes the device’s impact beyond clinical metrics, delving into its "life-changing" influence on daily life and well-being.

This impactful presentation highlights COPHS's dedication to integrating research excellence with student education. The study originated as a student research project involving two motivated pharmacy students: Lean Abdul Fattah and Nour Mustafa. Furthermore, the abstract of the presentation has been published in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice, a Q1 journal in the field of 'Pharmacy', underscoring the high quality and relevance of the research.
