The College of the Pharmacy and Health Sciences represented by the students of the Health and Wellness Club proudly announced the successful completion of its engaging Diabetes Awareness Event held on 18 November, where students were invited to learn, interact, and build confidence in diabetes care through hands-on activities and open discussion.
The event created an interactive learning space that highlighted essential diabetes management tools, including insulin pens, insulin pumps, and glucagon emergency kits. Students had the opportunity to see these devices up close, understand their functions, and gain practical insights into their proper use.
A lively and informative Q&A segment further enriched the experience. Participants tested their knowledge, asked thoughtful questions, and clarified common misconceptions about diabetes, fostering a deeper understanding of the condition and its day-to-day management.
The Health and Wellness Club extends its appreciation to all participants and volunteers who contributed to making the event both educational and empowering. The club remains committed to promoting health literacy and encouraging proactive wellness among students.
Prof. Abeer AlGhananeem, Dean of the College commented “I am incredibly proud of the Health & Wellness Club for organizing such a meaningful and impactful event. Initiatives like this not only enhance students’ knowledge but also prepare them to be compassionate, informed individuals who can make a difference in their communities. This event exemplifies our college’s commitment to promoting awareness, encouraging engagement, and fostering a culture of holistic well-being.”
